Hi I am new to this board and I'm looking for some support in the work at home world. I have 2 daughters ages 5 and 3 and have been a stay at home mom for the past 3 yrs. I have just recently started working and I'm looking for suggestions on how to make the transistion easier for my girls. I schedule for a sprinkler systems company from my house 8 hrs a day and my oldest doesn't quite understand that in fact mommy is working. Thanks in advance for any advice

Welcome Kim! Glad you found us!

This is a great board and I'm sure you'll get some great advice! My thoughts are to keep talking to her about it and make sure to praise her when she is patient while you work or are on the phone. You also might want to schedule some special 'mommy' time with the girls too, as they might be feeling a bit left out. Don't forget to take care of yourself too! It's easy to forget about pampering yourself!

Don't know if this will work but can you give her some "work" to do while you are busy? Maybe a coloring book, playdoh, a puzzle, a computer game, etc. Let her know that while you are working she can do her work too. My 3 yo always wants my attention as soon as the phone rings. I can't trust him with crayons or anything that could potentially make a mess.
