Work At Home Mom in FL

Hi, I'm a professional working mother who works at home. I live in West Palm Beach, FL. I communicate all day with people on the phone and e-mail but I have no physical interaction with my colleagues. With my husband working all day and my two kids in school all day, needless to say, it gets very lonely at times. I would love to hear from other work at home moms who are experiencing the same issue. I would love to start a work at home support group for other work at home moms who live in my area. I look forward to hearing from anyone who is experiencing the same problem.

Welcome to the board Twigger99 - I'm glad you found us.

I run a home business with Usborne books and have the fun of getting out as well as staying at home. When we lived in Chicago I had a job where I was alone 90% of the time, but working on the phone, fax and computer all the time - and I know it can be quite frustrating.

I hope you find some great friends and support here - we've got some great ladies but they don't always post as they're all busy working at home too.

Yes, I have checked out the local discussion groups and I'm happy to say that I was able to connect with someone who lives pretty close to my area. Thank you for the suggestion and I look forward to connecting with other work at home moms.

I am in the same situation, me work in home cell, phone, internet, so is few opportunities for me to have a person to speak to me as human, sometime my computer answer to me with a program my son buy for me, and installed.
Our children already grow up < High School & Junior High>
so is really different the way the home is.
so if you have a question about anything feel free to contact to us

It's good to know I'm not alone. I'm trying to make an effort to get more involved in other stuff outside the home to hopefully have more interaction with other adults. I started taking tennis lessons and I met some really nice people. I guess that's a start. My kids are in high school and junior high and for the most part, they don't really need us all that much anymore. They prefer to spend any extra time they have with their friends. I think this is just an adjustment period that I have to work through. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me. It helps to know I'm not alone.
