Yes and no. It all depends on the nature of the job. I can stop if a child just wants to talk or I can work while having a conversation (depending on if I'm running a machine or doing handwork). But I also have dangerous machines and tools out where little kids can get hurt. If I walk away from the work area in the kitchen, I have to make sure that everything is make safe. A dedicated room where I can leave everything out would help but would also cut down the amount of time I can interupt working.

In general, working at home means that the adult is at home but not necessarily available to the child. Something that kids don't always understand.
