I teach at a school designated SURR (under registration review) by NCLB. I work with a great team, they are absolutely the best! The daily grind, though, is horrendous. Most colleagues are just depressed, the administration treats us like we can't do anything right....ugh.
Well, like most districts, we had a lot of young teachers that were given RIF notices (pink slips). Since I am no longer young, I wasn't one of them. LOL. Well the district gave an incentive and two people retired in my department. It looks as the young man will be re-hired. It also looks, though, as if someone will have to go to the high school from our middle school.
So my decision is: stay with my really great team, teaching US history or go to the high school to teach Global history (which I love).
