With my first pregnancy in the early 80s, maternity clothes consisted mainly of oversized garments bedecked with ruffles, bows and ribbons. I seriously felt like an awkward Christmas present waiting to be unwrapped! I would have given anything to find maternity clothes that were more mainstream in style !
What fashion tips can you offer to expecting moms?
During my final pregnancy, in the late 90s, I shopped the men's department for lightweight cotton denim shirts; they were way cooler in the summer months than the synthetic blends most of the maternity clothes were made of and a whole lot less expensive. ;-)
