I have been looking for a job for quite some time and have had a lot of obstacles that were out of my control. For one, I studied here in the States but I am Canadian and it has been really hard finding a school district that is willing to sponsor me on a work visa. There's more, but it would be too long to go into right now.
Anyway, one of my professors has been a real good mentor through it all and she has helped me with a few problems before. However, she has never offered to help me find a job. This is kind of disappointing to me since she knows how hard I have been trying. Well what has really gotten me confused is that I e-mailed her about a month ago and she told me to give her a call "sometime". She gave me both her home and work phone number. So I did call her back, just mentioning that I wanted to "chat". I do not want to make her feel like I am begging for a job. After calling her back, she never returned my call.
I am kind of feeling that she may not want to help out and that is her way of letting me know, but then why give me her phone numbers and ask me to call her. Some of my friends say that she might be busy, but I can not help but take it personally.
What should I do? Should I leave well enough alone, or should I call her again?
Thanks for listeing,
