We are surviving 7th grade and it's 3 to 4 hours a night of homework:smileytongue: rather well all things considered. Ds was even selected for TAG this year and is managing to keep up with the work there and make up his missed work with no meltdowns in school and very few at home. The big issue we are facing is organization. We've tried binders, trappers, spiral notebooks, color coded folders, backpacks and messenger bags. Short of adding a pack mule or a house elf (who wouldn't love a Dobby?) to his IEP, I am at a loss as to how to keep this kid organized. The teachers have been very understanding but it adds a level of stress to my life that I just don't need right now. So I guess the question is what style notebook/backpacks work best for you? The backpack/messenger bag keeps him from losing pencils, books and calculators but lets him just shove papers in that invariable get lost in the new and improved blackhole that comes with this years' model. If we go without the backpack, then he spends half his day retracing his steps to collect whatever it is that he left in his last classroom. I would like to find a solution that he owns rather than having teachers do it for him. A few extra moments before the end of class maybe to file things in the right folder? Any great ideas ladies?
