This is x-posted from the Working & Pumping board, but I thought you ladies might have some ideas as well.
Ladies I need some ideas... I plan on talking to a few of my friends who work at my company and pump, but I have a feeling I am not going to like their answers....
I have been back to work full time for about 2 months now. I have been pumping 4 times a day. Once when I get up (either before or after I feed my DD - usually around 6:00am or so) and then 3 times at work 9ish, 12ish and 3ish depending on the day. For the past few months it hasn't been a problem. My schedule has been open enough for me to get down to the Mothers Room (when I am in the office Mon, Wed & Fri) or at home. At home I can be on conference calls and it's not problem because I can do it right in front of my computer. but at work is a different story.
Some background. My job is very virtual, All of my co-workers (even in the same state) are in different buildings, or we are working with people from CT, AR and NJ or TX. We are consistently on the phone. MY schedule on Monday I am literally on the hpone from 9 am until 5. I seriously don't know what to do....I am starting to not fit my pump times in because I am having so many meetings. Our Mothers room is scheduled usually in 1/2 hour increments. Most of my conference calls are 1 to 2 hours at a time, so being able to go downstairs and pump during a call just isn't an option. I plan on discussing it with my boss, but I don't think that I am going to be able to work from home full time just to accomdate my pumping schedule.
I have been having to go down to two pumpings a day (like today) because I just don't have the time to get 3 in while I am in the office....I only really need 20 minutes for each pump, but even that's hard to find. I can't say no to meetings because I HAVE to be there....it will go in waves where it's super busy like this for weeks and then it will drop off for a month or two and then pick up again. I had wanted to go to a year but at this rate I don't know if I will make it to 6 months....
Can I switch so I pump at night before I go to bed or something or when I am home (I would rather not, but if it helps with my supply I will do anything)? ANy suggestions would be great.
Thanks so much, sorry its so long!
