Erin's post got me to thinking...
(x-posted from Working and Pumping)
At Peter's 2 month appt (November 5), he weighed 9lbs 15oz. We took him Monday (December 13) for a fever and he was 10lbs 6oz. So that's only a 7oz gain in 6 weeks. The ped. we saw didn't mention it, but since she's not our regular doc, I don't know if she even looked at it.
She did remark that he was one of the strongest 3 mo/olds she's seen. He can old his head up for 15 minutes at a time with nothing supporting it. He stands with support, "talks," and is working on rolling over. He can get to his side from his back, and sometimes makes it to his stomach. No stomach-->back rolling yet.
He's taking 11-12oz at daycare in 11 hours each day, and then nurses 4-6 times a day as well. He'll typically sleep anywhere from 5-7 hours straight at night (though we co-sleep so he may be nursing and not waking me up some).
So, in a way I'm not worried because he seems to be growing lengthwise fine and is a generally happy and healthy baby. But there's a part of me that thinks something isn't quite right since he's gained so little. That's nowhere close to the .5-1oz a day gain they like to see. We struggled so much in the beginning with nursing/pumping, and I'm really afraid that when we go in for his next well-baby check-up (January 6) that formula will be mentioned. If the doctor says it, DH will insist we do it. I can always go back to the LC the week after Christmas when I'm off work. Is there anything else I can try?
