I mentioned this in the Baby/Kid Chat, but felt it was worthy of its own thread. Avery is about to hit 6 months so I'm going to be introducing solids soon. I'm reading Baby-Led Weaning right now and it makes so much sense, so that's really how I'd like to go about it--skipping purees and just going to good, whole foods and letting her experiment.
DH and I got into a little disagreement tonight about it because he's afraid she'll choke. I don't think he has any idea that for a long while, she's going to have a hard time even getting anything into her mouth, and that it's mostly about experimenting with tastes and textures this early. Any words of advice from BTDTs on the choking risks with BLW? Or any words to make me feel better and like I'm not choosing a feeding equivalent of giving her knives to swallow as her first food? :)
