I probably shouldn't complain because Wyatt is finally back to happily sleeping through the night again. So I am probably jinxing myself by asking this at all. But I wish Wyatt was not such an early riser. He wakes up at 5:30am every single morning. He doesn't care that it is the weekend. He doesn't care that I don't have to get up until 6am with his brother. He doesn't care if one or both of us had a bad nights sleep. Like clock work every single day Wyatt gets up at 5:30am. He didn't used to get up this early. He used to sleep in until 7 or 8 am. WHich I am more then happy with. Or at the very least let me sleep until my alarm goes off. DH and I alternate on the weekends who gets up with him. That way we both get at least one day a week to sleep in as long as we want. Which usually ends up being 8am for some reason. LOL
I work nights so DH is the one that puts him to bed most nights. He has his little routine. Around 7pm he puts Wyatt in his jammies and a night time diaper. They snuggle up in the chair and Wyatt has a bottle of milk. About 7:45ish he puts Wyatt in his bouncy chair and wraps him up with a blanket. Wyatt gets all snuggly and warm and drifts off to sleep. DH puts him in his bed and he is out cold until the morning. It is slightly different when I am home because Wyatt will not sit in the chair and drift off. He is to much of a mommy's boy right now and he wants to be me. So at 8pm (his bed time) we lay him down in his bed. He will fuss for a couple of minutes but goes to sleep pretty quickly.
We have tried to just let him cry until 6am when I get up but that was a hot mess. Wyatt would cry until he was screaming and tears were coming down and we just could not handle it. Fussing is one thing but screaming is not ok. It broke my heart. He seemed to have worse seperation anxiety during the day when I did that too. So we stopped doing it and he went back to normal happy baby.
So is there anyway to make him sleep longer in the morning? I would almost prefer to get up with him once in the middle of the night and have him sleep longer in the morning then to get up so early. Oh well ... at least I am getting some sleep now.
