sleeping less with solids

Hi

I'm new to posting, but am wondering if someone else has been through this before. My youngest daughter is 4 months old and we've just started her on solids. I know a lot of people wait til later, but she's a pig and drinking a ton of formula and the ped said it was okay to start. I also started at 3.5 mo w/ my other daughter (now almost 3) and it went well.

Previously my 4 monther was sleeping about 5 hours, eat, and sleep 3 more. Since solids she has been waking up every 2.5-3 hours overnight and seems cranky. I thought maybe constipation with rice cereal so tried steamed and mashed pears last night, but got the same result. I didn't necessarily expect her to sleep more with solids, but sure wasn't expecting less.

She enjoys eating the solids too and does well while feeding, it's just a few hours later after putting her down there's issues.

Maybe it's just a phase, but the missed hours of sleep before was bad enough for my husband and I and this is just ridiculous. Thoughts?

Thanks.
