Long morning!

We got to the hospital at 8 this morning after having Ben wake everyone up at 5:30. (Rolling eyes here.) The scan was scheduled for 9:20 but actually took place at about 11. Tim would rather have played than get his stats and vitals taken and he didn't want band-aids on to cover some cream that would numb his hand for an IV; however, he was great about the actual IV and pretty much acted like a saint whenever the pediatrician popped in. LOL

There's an awesome playroom in peds that I'm jealous about - whenever we have appts with the pediatrician, we're in a waiting area just out of the pediatric department and it doesn't have many toys... We spent much of our time in that playroom, then eventually a nurse came from the main floor to fetch us and we stayed in the radiology waiting room for a bit. Ben was getting tired by then, so I started carrying him around and showing him fun things like a mirror on the wall and the butterfly decorations at the radiology desk. Meanwhile Tim was still having a blast, only showing fatigue every so often and probably loving that he had his dad to hang out with for the morning.

They asked for one parent to go in with Tim and I suggested Hubby, partly because I was still carrying Ben but I also thought he would stay calmer with his dad than me, though we were a good match for the IV going in earlier. :)

Sedation wasn't actually needed because Tim stayed still and grinned for the "pictures" that were being taken. Hee hee. I was out in the hall with Ben falling asleep in my arms. Kinda cute, though my arms were really tired by the time the quick scan was done. I let Hubby carry Ben back upstairs to peds and then it wasn't long before we had the IV out, Tim back in his everyday clothes and an appt scheduled with the doc for next Tuesday. We should have some answers then, I hope.

We went out for brunch and now I'm letting the boys use up more energy before a much-needed naptime. We'll have to deal with errands after the nap because I remembered a couple that can't be done tomorrow on the holiday...
