Sam arrived 7/31/11 at 2:15pm at 7lbs 15oz and 21" long!

On Saturday on the way home from dinner I felt a little dizzy, so I took my bp when we got home. 159/99! I decided to take a shower and call my ob, who had me come in to L&D. When we got there it was still high but got WAY low when I was laying down...we're talking <100/<60 low. My urine was clear and my labs were all normal. I thought the ob would come and put me on bedrest, but to my surprise she wanted to induce right then!

I had cytotec placed at 5:30am and felt its effects immediately. The ctx were stronger but not painful. After 4hrs I had progressed from 1cm to 1.5cm and from 50% to 70%, so instead of more cytotec they started me on a pitocin drip and broke my water. Things picked up pretty quickly after that! I got my epidural nearly 3hrs later and I think they must have upped the pit at that time, because I went from a 5 to a 10 in less than an hour. I pushed for 15 minutes and my baby boy was born screaming his little lungs off :-) I did tear a little due to the fact that he was sunny side up! No one had any idea until he came out--I had absolutely NO back labor and obviously didn't push very long. Crazy! I got to nurse him <30 min after the birth and he is doing great!
