I went to the dr today for a checkup on the m/c. I haven't started spotting/bleeding yet. He did an u/s and we saw that the pregnancy has separated from the lining. He thinks the m/c will happen this weekend. I voiced a little concern to him b/c when I had my DS, I hemorrhaged after the birth. I didn't want to hemorrhage at home away from medical help. He asked me if I remember that he gave me some medicine after DS was delivered and I started hemorrhaging, and I said yes. He said he could prescribe that medication to me to take after I had passed the tissue to prevent hemorrhaging. I picked up the medicine today, and it's Misoprostol (Cytotec). It's the second part of the abortion pill that causes contractions. :( I am pro-life, but I know this pregnancy is already over. Has anyone been prescribed this to prevent hemorrhaging? I'm completely torn about this. I know I took it after DS's birth, but I didn't know what it was at the time - and my blood pressure was 74/46, so I wasn't exactly in a position to choose. I'm also afraid that it will prevent me from carrying another pregnancy if it happens quickly after this m/c. I think I may just not take it and hope I don't hemorrhage??
