I was at a job interview on Wednesday. I was directed to the assistant principal's office to wait. When I got there, she was interviewing another candidate and her secretary was not at her desk, but the secretary was listening to the radio. I was really taken aback to realize that the secretary was listening to Rush Limbaugh. Is it just me, or does anyone else think that that is not an appropriate choice for a school? He can be very controversial and say really outrageous things sometimes. I can see listening to music softly at the desk, but talk radio of a controversial nature just rubbed me the wrong way. It could be construed as the administration agreeing with this point of view. I admit that my political views are left of center, but I think that I would also have a problem if say GWB were still president and she were listening to a left wing radio station. I just don't think highly charged political rhetoric is appropriate for a school office where kids can hear. This was a high school, btw.
What do you think?
