Hello everyone. I'm a WAH currently with 3 children -- 19, 15, and 11. Have been working from home since hubby moved us to TX for his job -- I was VERY lucky that I got to bring my job with me. It's especially nice now that I'm pregnant and exhausted all the time. I cannot imagine having to get myself together and go to work. Working in my jammies all day is quite nice. :)
Anyhoo. We found out in December that we're expecting #4, and I'm nervous about how that's going work out with a little one. Daycare won't be an option for a good while -- no way we can afford it. A couple other mommies in my company work from home also and it seems like they're managing well, but they're higher on the food chain and thus make more money, and their children are in daycare. So, just curious if anyone has been in this boat and how you handled it, what to expect, etc.
I don't really have hour flexibility. I work when the east coasters work, from 7am to 4pm with a lunch hour at 11. I'm in a business that more often than not there is some deadline (often being moments after I receive something that needs my attention) to deal with. I have 3 co-workers who can cover for me for doc appointments and such, but those are most often planned events. At any given time, the 4 of us are working on 6-10 projects at once, so it's not practical to ask someone to handle things while I'm dealing with a fussy baby if I'm on a hurry-up-and-get-this-out kind of deadline.
Fairly early to be overly concerned, but worrying is my thing. LOL.
Thanks much for any insight and tips!
