Friday February 3rd was GO RED for Women day, but February is Heart Health Awareness Month.
So lets all try to wear red and show our support for continued awareness.
Some startling facts about women and heart disease:
- More women die of heart disease than all forms of cancer combined.
- Since heart disease is silent, hidden and misunderstood, some 8 million women in the U.S. are living with heart disease – yet only one in six American women believes that heart disease is her greatest health threat.
- Ninety percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease.
