Just in case they call it something different where you are, this is an additional half-daydriver skills development class, done on a closed course, in which the student learns how to recover from a skid, etc. It's supposed to reduce the risk of crashing in the first year by 70%. (Apparently, over half of all new drivers have an accident within the first two years of driving.)
You get a discount on your insurance here, but the course is pricey--about $350--on top of what you're already spending for regular driver's training. If your kid did this, was it worth it? Did you notice a big improvement in their skills?
