11.5 month old nursling is BFing about 6 to 8 times a day, has 2 small meals of fingerfoods and drinks a little water out of a sippy. Nursing can get active during the day with all sorts of positions and monkey business. That's not much of a problem. If something hurts, I end the session briefly and offer again soon and most offending behavior is well under control. The problem is in nursing to sleep - both bedtime and naptime. It starts out nice and calm but the closer she gets to dozing off, the more active she becomes: flailing, kicking, pinching, slapping. I don't think it's on purpose, since the worst is just before she unlatches, practically asleep. The method of stopping doesn't work. If I stop, it just means I have to start all over and she will still do her thing. She was sick about a week ago and she stopped falling asleep for DH and will only do so if nursing. I'm not looking to wean her anytime soon but I'm starting to dread naptime and bedtime. Any thoughts?
