I've been dating a guy for a few months now. I've known him for about 12 yrs, and 2 yrs ago we tried the "friends with benefits" thing, but it only lasted a few weeks, being that I was newly single and not ready. We're both divorced, both have kids, and there's a significant age difference. I'm in my 30s, and he's 15-20 yrs older than me. (I'm not being too specific, just in case) The other night I spent the night at his house, and as we were going to bed, he whispered something like "Good night babe, get some sleep, I love you" I didn't acknowldge it, because we had just been talking a few days earlier that neither of us really feel 'love' yet. A friend of mine said he was testing the waters, but I think it was more out of habit, like maybe he says it to his kids. I do the "night baby, get a good sleep, I love you" kind of all in one breath when I tuck my kids in.
What do you think? Accident out of habit, or testing the waters? It's been 4 days, so I think calling attention to it at this point would be lame.
