Sitting at dinner with a very surly teenage boy. We have just told him that summer league basketball is out of the question. When he approached me about it a few weeks ago, he swore up and down that there would be no conflicts, that it would not interfere with anything, and now, lo and behold, I find out that this league isn't just get on a bus and play a game here one day and a game somewhere else another day. They play tournaments. They go all the heck over the state. They have to stay overnight a lot of times because they have to travel so far. Sorry, but I did not sign up for this. Not to mention that the practices are 45 minutes from home. WTH? Like i am really going to have time and energy to cart the boy child all over the blessed STATE, while I am going to college, dealing with cabin guests, dealing with my parents, and somehow managing to keep our home from looking like something out of Hoarders. I am furious with him because I feel lied to, and he is acting like a spoiled little brat.
