Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Robin and I am the mother of a soon to be 13 year old daughter. I am not against vaccines in general, my kids have gotten everything as recommended, but I am on the fence about this HPV vaccine. I have read several articles and interviews with Dr. Harper, a doctor who worked on getting the HPV vaccine to market, and I feel she provides a very balanced assessment of the vaccine and it's uses. Like any good assessment she provide plenty of "grey" areas. In other words she presents both the advantages and potential disadvantages of giving the vaccine to a 12 year old. Her biggest concern is that the vaccine may only provide protection for 5 years in which case many kids may not be protected during their most active time sexually. I wondered if any of you are familiar with her work and if you know anything about her. She seems as if she is not a crackpot, but she also seems like something of a renegade as I am unable to find other doctors who support her opinions. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, robin
