Hey ladies,
So my appointment went well. Though I was soooo convinced I would be dilated more because of all those symptoms I'd been having, I'm still at 1 cm, 60% effaced. But my doctor told me that's a really good start for a first time pregnancy, so I suppose I'll defer to her judgment. She commented again on how low he is. He is just hangin' out right there when she does her checks. It was actually kind of odd having her do my check and feeling him start moving at the same time...he could feel her on his head, haha. I think she woke him up. She confirmed that it did sound a bit like false labor/my body getting ready for the real thing with the cramps. So I guess I got a taste of what is to come...except it will be way worse!
I also went back to the maternal-fetal specialist to do another u/s to look at baby's growth since he was measuring disproportionate. The doctor (I LOVE her, btw, wish she could do all my appts) got much different measurements than the tech at my OB's- he's still small but he's measuring proportionately. The U/S tech had his head at 37 weeks and others at 33-34 when I was 36 weeks along, and at 37 weeks, the specialist measured his head at 35-36 weeks, and the other measurements were around 35 weeks...so much more symmetrical. She said there was no reason to worry and he is going to be just fine, no abnormalities, no IUGR, still 15th percentile, but just a small baby. His dad is 6'4" though, so I'm thinking he won't stay small forever. She had him at 5 lb 15 oz. so I'm still on track to have in between a 6-7 lb baby.
My doctor is out of town next week from Monday-Monday so I told little boy he better stay in there till she gets back!!!
