Finding the Cervix

Hello Ladies:

I consider myself a fairly intelligent person but this is likely to sound like a very ignorant question :womanembarrassed:but...

How do I identify my cervix? I have been charting for years using temperature and CM but now I am attempting to start tracking position as well. I have gone on the search to find it but I am not sure I am locating the right thing. I have read where if you insert two fingers (clean of course) and angle towards the back and up you will feel something that feels like the tip of my nose or my lips (depending upon the cycle stage) and should feel a little indentation in the middle. Well I feel lots of stuff in there but I don't know if any of it is the cervix. Perhaps my body is made oddly but it does feel like something is suspended inside and I can move my fingers around it. But it is always at the entrance to the vagina and not way up like I have heard described. Could that be it? Or do I need medical intervention? I have had a vaginal delivery, vaginal fibroid surgeries and been through two IVF cycles. I say this only to indicate that if there was something odd in there, I would imagine one of these docs would have mentioned something. I have been told that my cervix has a bit of a something to it by the RE during the transfer process which makes it a bit more difficult for them to get into the right position but that's all. I can't believe I need an anatomy lesson at my age but I haven't spent a lot of time fooling around on the inside. Any insights would be appreciated. I am at CD2 so I wont be exploring for a few more days but would like to master this this cycle if possible. Thanks!
