Hello,
New to the boards and wanted to 'meet' and talk with other moms with high schoolers. I'm a mom of 5, with my 2nd and 3rd kids in high school this year, my oldest is in college and I have one in 7th and 4th grade this year. The transition to high school for my two oldest boys went smoothly, but I'm a little worried about my daughter, who is entering as a freshman this year. Just wanted o talk to other moms out there who worry about their high school daughters a bit more than sons.
My high school son is doing just fine, he's a starter on the varsity football team and I love watching him play football, he's very outgoing, athletic, social, popular, typical jock and he just got his own car so things are fine with him. I just worry about my daughter...not anything she might do, but what the BOYS are thinking. She is VERY pretty, cute, thin and she's had boys feign over her since 5th grade. Yeah I'm in trouble. She's not that interested yet in having a steady boyfriend, she's not 'boy crazy' like her friends, thank GOD (OK She thinks Taylor Lautner will wait for her, but I digress) so just looking to see if anyone else may have some concerns about starting out in high school with a bunch of hormonally imbalanced boys
I'm sure big brother will defend her, but also tease the living daylights out of her as well. They get along which helps, so I guess that's a good thing. Maybe it's a mother-daughter thing, since she wouldn't let me out of her sight until she was 4.
