After 29 hours of labor sweet Sadie is here!!
My water broke on Tuesday morning while I was on an interview committee at work...what are the odds?!?! It happened about 8 and I wasnt sure until 9:00 so I went to the hospital after the calling the doctor's office. I got to the hospital about 10 where they had me wait to be admittted, during which my water was gushing onto the floor. I had a puddle larger than me and my own personal housekeeper who followed me around the hospital cleaning it up. The labor and delivery nurses freaked when I got up there cause they didn't know it was gushing that much. Once I got up there I was going through a huge pad every 30 minutes due to waters. I was only at a one.
My sugar levels dropped considerbly so they started me on pitocin and gave me an epidural at 2:30 when I was at a 3. By 6, Sadie's heart rate was dropping depending on how I was laying and my pulse was racing so they put me on oxygen. Doc came in at 8 and said since I was at the 24 hour mark he would give me until noon to have her. They started me on antibiotics in hopes of keeping infection down. By noon I was fully dilated but in a lot of pain and throwing up. After an hour and a half of pushing (I have never ever had to push that long) she started to come out with her cord wrapped around her neck twice and her face severly bruised because she came out crooked with a conehead. Husband didnt get to cut the cord cause everything had to be taken care of so fast.
Sadie was 7 lbs. 12 oz and 21 inches long at 38 weeks. Her sugar levels were extremelly low and they almost had to put her on an IV. Right after having her I started throwing up and running a fever so they started me on additional antibiotics. I also had problems with blood pressure being low but now things seem to be okay. We were released this morning from the hospital.
