We do time out for my DS that is a newer 6.  One min per year of age. 

Staying in timeout isn't the problem.  He is good about going to his time out chair and staying there.  The problem is he screams and yells at the top of his lungs for the entire 6 min.  He calls people names and makes rude comments.  So far we all just ignore him until his time is up but boy do our ears ring.

Today I started that if he screams in time out then the time out turns into a nap in his bed.  What do you think?  Should I do this, or go back to ignoring his yelling.
