I've sent a spontaneous application to a company I wanted to work for and they invited me to a job interview. At the interview with the director, she told me that she liked my CV very much and sees me working at the company but she wanted for me to write a proposal for a client (being paid since it's a real client) as a test to see my work. Then another manager at her team contacted to liaise with me regarding that task. I did the proposal and it seems they liked it very much. Then this other manager contacted me asking if I would like to work for them as a freelancer managing that client.
I was very surprised with this proposal since what was discussed at the interview was me working full-time in-house for them and not as a freelancer! I feel this is a bit of a lack of respect to me specially because the director I had the interview with didn't contact me anymore to explain this, it was just the other manager that asked me if I want to work as a freelancer.
I don't think I want to work for them because I believe this is no way to treat a professional, are they just doing as they please?
Please give me some advice on the best way to deal with this.
