Matthew Levi

Matthew Levi was born Thursday 9/13!  He is beautiful and BIG.  lol  I went in for an induction (after having membranes stripped Tuesday a.m. resulting in contractions, but nothing regular... and apparently they didn't even do anything).  I was a 2-3 and 80% effaced.  They broke my water and started pitcoin at 8:30.  He was born at 2:15.  The epidural hurt a lot more than I remembered.  I think I got that around 10:30.  My back is EXTREMELY sore.  I don't know if that's from the epi or from pushing.  Little man came out wieighing 9lbs 6 oz and is 23.5" long - yes he is LONG.  lol (DH is only 5'10 and I'm 5'8" but tall men run in our families)  We did NOT expect much over 8, so everyone is shocked.

He is a pretty sleepy little dude.  We have to wake him for nursing which is a bit of a challenge and makes nursing sessions longer than ideal, but he is nursing well.  My nips are very sore. 

The really fun part was picking his name.  I'm so glad that's over with.  We debated names for the entire pregnancy.  I still like Max best, but when he came out and they put him on my chest - I just looked at DH and told him I don't care.  It doesn't matter.  And it doesn't.  Matthew is a great name and Levi was my choice, falling in with my family's tradition of  "L" middle names. 

So now we have our M&Ms - Matt and Molly and I am thrilled.

Now.  If only the in-laws would go home and DH would stop suggesting his mother stay all week!  (cause she will!)
