I'm 34 and have always dated men 5, 10, and 15 years older than myself. Actually, when I was 21, I briefly dated a 50 year old man and he didn't seem to have any sexual issues that I can recall. But recently, having had a couple of serious relationships with men in their mid and late 40's, I've discovered that a lot of guys hit a certain age and feel a drastic decline in their testosterone production, resulting in a much lower libido among other things. My current BF, 45, has been on testosterone therapy since before we met and I can definitely attest to its efficasy if low libido ever was indeed a problem for him, lol. Though, I do notice it seems harder for him to ejaculate and it's often not as much as you might expect - not that that matters in the slightest since it doesn't bother him and he happens to rock my world. But I experienced the whole process with another 5 year relationship, wherein he suddenly couldn't perform as usual and was diagonsed with low testosterone (and this man was a force to be reckoned with, a total beast, in a good way). Then, in talking with some of their friends, I discovered this is a pretty typical phenomonon among middle-aged men. Any other men out there experiencing this? How has it affected you? How has it affected your SO? And if you're on testosterone therapy, I'm wondering if there are any negative side affects you know of or have experienced. Also, does it in any way alter your personality so that you might be inclined to cheat when you weren't before? My BF says that some of the men he knows on testosterone therapy are like raging bulls and they can't decide where to stick it first - not exactly conducive to an exclusive committed relationship but I imagine that's more of an exception than the rule...
