Just wanted to pop in with an update.  (My username was bm5time but somehow got messed up so I'm using a new name)...

DH had his VR in January 2012.  We began TTC in July 2012 and this morning - got 2 positive tests!!  I know it's early days and nothing is certain but it's worthy of hope and excitement to know that his swimmers still swim and a baby IS possible!  I'm off to call my doctor to see about getting things confirmed... just wanted to pop in to give others hope in this journey!  BTW - I'm 39 :).
