So for the last 5 days or so I've had a little bit of green discharge when I wipe after peeing. Not a lot and it's only once a day so not constant. I mentioned to a friend and she told me it sounds like an infection and to for sure call the Dr.

Once I called they scheduled me to come in the following morning but that whole night I was a wreck! I convinced myself that there was some kind of infection that had killed or was killing the baby. And since I've had two m/cs (before the birth of my healthy son in August 2011) I'm pretty nervous with this pg. 

The Dr did a culture and looked at it under the slide and she said it all looks normal. I asked if we could hear the baby on the Doppler but I'm too early (I'm 8 weeks 4 days today). I needed reassurance that the baby was safe and sound but they weren't able to give me any. I was fighting back tears in the exam room and the Dr, trying to take my mind off it, asked me if we were going anywhere for Thanksgiving. I told her that my entire family (parents, sister, bro-in-law, nephew,and cousins) were all coming to our house and we were going to announce to them next week.

Then the nurse came in and offered me an u/s an hour later. I took it!!! 

Thankfully the baby is just perfect and I'm so relieved, although I'm still confused about this green stuff.  Baby measured one day ahead and had a HR of 174, 2 weeks ago it had been 114. I got to see its arms and legs and it's little profile, though not super clear you could make out it's nose and chin, etc.  SOOOO thrilled!

I got back in 2 weeks for my NT bloodwork panel and then we'll scheduel the NT scan a few weeks after that. The tech was able to tell us the gender of our son at the almost 13 week NT scan appt with my son so I'm hoping she can do it again! We shall see.
