According to an article from USA Today, cybercriminals are targeting online holiday shoppers using old and new scams to steal identities and hijack your online accounts.

You can protect yourself by making sure your browser has been updated to the latest version (almost 50% of those doing online shopping are using old versions that have known security vulnerabilities!) and protecting yourself using a security suite. I updated all my software yesterday, and it only took a few minutes.
