I've been keeping busy sending e-mails and snail mails to the Power Co. There is some progress, I believe. I found out something very interesting from a neighbor, last night. It seems that the man, who does her grass mowing, came to her door and asked if she knew that something was leaking from the transformer on the power pole near the road. Of course, she didn't, because who goes wandering around a ditch, looking at a power pole? She did go up there to look and there it was; oil was leaking from the transformer. She called the Power Co., and in no time, there were three bucket trucks with the men to work in short order. One of them told her that there was only about a quart of oil left in the thing; if it had run dry, it would have exploded! This prompted me to go out to look at the pole in question between my neighbor's house and ours. The pole is located on the opposite side of a deep ditch that separates our two properties. I could not see if there was oil, but I did notice, that there was no evidence of a dead squirrel. Usually, if a squirrel has done the damage, there are remains. The tail is often left if other animals have consumed the body of the dead squirrel. There was no sign of a tail! One more piece of evidence that the Power Co. is responsible for our losses.
