I was active on the boards in 2009/2010 and went through 5 rounds of treatment with an RE (2 clomid/ovidrel, 3 iui's, 2 with injectables, 1 with femara). After going for a second opinion in 2010, the dr. told me that losing weight may help not only with getting pregnant, but also with having a healthier pregnancy. Because I had a lot of weight to lose and had tried for years on my own, I decided to have weight loss surgery. I am 14 months out of surgery, down 115 pounds, and back to trying again! We tried on our own (with surgeon's approval) for the past several months, but when my prolactin came back slightly elevated, my ob/gyn told me to just go back to the RE earlier than we were planning. I went to a new RE (husband didn't love the last one) yesterday for a consult and here's the news: I have to repeat tests (Day 2 bloodwork with AMH, which i never had tested before, genetic stuff, etc...), HSG for my next cycle (should be scheduled for Dec 16-20) and SA for my husband again (he is "superman" as he calls himself, so hopefully no issues there). We were diagnosed with "unexplained if" after an original diagnosis of PCOS. The dr. said if tests come back pretty normal which is what she expects, she would suggest going right to IVF based on my previous treatment history and my age (i'll be 37 in feb. with no pregnancies). I'm hoping to have all tests done in next 2 weeks, have another consult with her the week after christmas, and then start the cycle for January/February. I'm nervous, but want to move forward and am soooo ready to be pregnant already!
