Seems it is still letting me post here & looks like other recent posts.

Anyway -- here is the new scoop & this time we might actually GET a troop...although I do feel bad that we may lose girls due to timing issue.

Seems we will be getting a Brownie Troop of 16?   I have to go look at the numbers again.     The leader who has it now as Daisy's basically was thrown into it and she does not want to do Brownies as she has a younger daughter and plans on starting that Daisy troop with her next year.

So, we will start up next Fall as 1st year Brownies with them.    I forget but are they Brownies in the summer?   I thought it would be nice to have just a couple of summer events since we don't really know the girls & they don't know us.   They are doing a bridging ceremony in May.    They are having a celebration next week, so we will probably stop in and get to meet the girls then...just a brief meeting.

They meet right after school now since most are working parents and about 1/2 the troop can't meet if they don't do it right after school.   THAT might pose a problem for us, so I'm not sure I can stick with that time plus a few other things the leader does to be nice for handling pick-up (basically babysits a few girls extra time) but I'm not comfortable with it not really knowing the girls, etc...

The nice thing is it is local, there is already a co-leader willing to continue if the time/date works for her and she is also involved in Cub Scouts although I don't know her since her son is younger but I know she has seen me (one of my hats is the awards coordinator so everyone sees me up front helping hand out the awards).
