Here's the recipe I used this morning. I know I have posted it here before, but alas, I can't find it. I don't make these often because they take too long. But they are great and the kids love them.
2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 box yellow Jiffy cake mix
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
1/2 t. salt
Cream cheese icing
**I was not given this recipe with amounts of butter, cinnamon, or sugar. They are all to taste. I use about 3 T. of butter. Then I sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar with a heavy hand.**
Mix together water and salt. Combine yeast and cake mix. Add this to the salt water. Mix in the flour one cup at a time. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap. It will be sticky, don't worry, you are doing it right. Let rise for one hour; then punch down. Roll dough onto floured surface. Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top of butter. Roll dough up, starting at wide end. Cut into rolls and place in greased pan. Cover and let them rise again until double in size. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350°. Ice when cool.
