Hi Everyone

It's been a while since I have posted on iVillage.  I hope to jump back in and get to know you ladies again.

My name is Chris, and I am Mom to 7 year old Zach.  He was diagnosed about a year ago with High Functioning Autism.  He is in 2nd Grade now, and has a really good IEP in place.  He does really well with spelling and reading, but struggles a bit with math.  He is doing really well this year in school, but still struggles with social situations.  He really wants to be around the other kids, and plays well when there is a game going on, but struggles with conversation skills.  He is in a social group once a week, and they are working on these issues. He is also a Cub Scout now, and that is helping with social skills too.

I hope you all had a great Holiday Season!  Ours was really fun, and a bit fustrating.  We are in the process of selling our house, and our buyers are having issues with their lender and the IRS.  We were supposed to close before Thanksgiving, and then again before Christmas, we are still waiting for the IRS to release paperwork to them so we can close.  All our stuff is now in storage, and we have been living out of boxes since the week before Christmas. We can't buy our new house until we sell this one.   We made the best of it though.  We decided to rent a cabin near the resort we ski at for a few days over Christmas.  We figured we didnt want to mope around our empty house.  We had a blast!  Hoping to close in the next week.

I hope to be around the board a lot more.
