Hi all! It's been awhile, and I thought I'd pop in and say hi, for any of those who are still lurking around.
J and I passed our 2-year mark TTC this month. Thankfully, I'm in a good place about the whole thing these days. We're planning to give it several more months, with some medical assistance, and then, if it doesn't happen, call it quits and move on with our lives, possibly adopting at some point down the road, but otherwise just focusing on other goals--grad school, travel, etc.
We started seeing an RE in October, and after extensive thyroid testing for me (they never did find anything wrong, just some warning signs that indicate I may have thyroid issues in the future), and some discussion about what treatments we're comfortable pursuing, we started our first medicated cycle this month.
I did 50 mg of Clomid days 3-7, which was great--no significant side effects at all. Then a trigger shot (which I never thought I'd be able to give myself .... but I actually did just fine!) last Friday/CD 11 after an ultrasound that day showed 3 follies (1 mature, 2 close to mature) and a blood test showed I was already getting a LH surge. We are nervous about the chance of multiples--twins would be fine, but triplets not so much--but decided to take the chance, knowing it's a slim one. So now it's just a waiting game. I go in Friday to have my progesterone checked, and then I'll test the weekend of Jan. 26. If we get lucky this time around, I'll have a nice birthday present, as I turn 31 on the 29th. :) If not, we'll be taking a month off, since I'm traveling during the first part of February, and trying again in March.
