I feel like our community have been in the spot light, but not in a good way. Besides feeling sad about the whole mental health issues being highlighted, does anyone feel attacked (for our kids of course) or do you feel scared for the future? I actually feel both. My ds is doing varsity basketball now, thanks to the town's recreation department which doesn't exclude anyone, but sometimes I feel all eyes are on me and some of the parents are definitely judging me when he misbehaves and refuses to listen. However being part of a team for a game that he loves and he is good at helps in a lot and some of the kids are super nice to him, so I swallow my pride and continue to take him -- wish me luck, today is practice which is the most challenging for him because he has to pay attention and listen to directions. The one hour fifteen minutes practice feels like 24 hours; though he has a good time, I'm completely anxious and can't wait for it to be over. It is a catch 22 situation. Anyway, I miss you, please let's start sharing again.
