Wasn't sure where to put this exactly so I hope you ladies can help...

Hubby and I are TTC and I'm a "planner" so I'm already looking into carseats. I've been in childcare and been a nanny for many hears so I have lots of experience!

My question today is about carseats... In my years of child care I have always used the infant carrier/bucket type and then switched to the convertible RFing around 9mo-year and  then to FFing at 2yrs. But are the infant/buckets really worth it or should I just invest in a good convertible?

I know the buckets are convenient; but I am more concerned about SAFETY and being practical. I've heard lots of questionable info about the lack of safety in the infant carriers...

Any input, ideas, experience, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!!

Ps: A little more background incase it helps... I have medical problems that prevent me from lifting extremly heavy objects and could have me limited to my activties after birth. This will be our first, we are planning on me being a SAHM, I drive a 2012 Town and Country. I am also very interested in baby wearing, extended RFing, anything to benefit my child!
