Which spouse's career is more important?

Traditionally, military wives have been encouraged to find "portable" careers (teaching, nursing, etc.) since it's a given that servicemembers relocate every few years.

In a military marriage where both husband and wife have a career, which spouse should concede to the other's career?  Is it possible for both to maintain a career?  The author of this article and her husband decided to temporarily maintain two separate residences so both of them can focus on their careers but stay together.

How do you handle career conflicts?
