I've been in menopause now for 6 months, and so far the symptoms have been minor and not lasting. Early on I suffered from a bit of fatigue, but that seemed to pass. I thought I had night sweats - turns out the cats were over heating me.
Then I started having feet pain and numbness - turns out the feet grew!! The hubby and I went shoe shopping mainly to get my feet measured (and low and behold they are a whole size larger). So now I am saying good bye to my shoes and slowly buying new ones. Is it just me or does one's feet grow with the changes that menopause brings? Or is it because I spend more time barefoot since being a full time homemaker? I'm blaming menopause, because it was just since the menses stopped that I noticed the foot growth, and I have been a full time homemaker for almost three years. It's a nice excuse to get new shoes but it does put a cramp (literally) in my fitness routine (need new shoes to move forward with my walking program). We were lucky yesterday and were able to take advantage of some wonderful clearances!
The only lasting symptoms that I seem to have so far (knock on wood) are larger boobs (yay - new bras) and larger feet. I'll let you know if the weight that I gained when on medication is here to stay or if I get back to my orginal weight. Currently it's slowly coming off.
