I never thought I'd say that but, I thought I say something positive here since we are often complaining. I've been in a long-term sub postion for the past 3 months. I've gotten pretty close to my assistant in the library. I'm leaving on Tues since the librarian I'm filling in for is returning from maternity leave. My assistant planned a little going away thing for me yesterday. There was cake and cookies etc. in the library and she invited the whole staff to wish me well. It was really sweet of her. She also gave me a present and flowers. I was so touched I was literally speechless. A bunch of teachers came by. My principal even came by and he had a gift bag for me. I was so taken aback, I began to tear up. He wrote me a nice card and gave me a school mug and an iTunes gift card. I have had a lot of horrible experiences in school districts and was treated very poorly by at least 3 different adminstrations. I had started to think that nice administrators didn't exist. I'm sorry that my position is ending but, I'm very happy to have had such a nice experience.
