Do you keep a journal, aside from anything you're working on writing? Do you find it helps you write to compile your own, personal thoughts?
Here's some info on why keeping a journal can help you become a better writer, along with some different versions of journals you can opt to have (they all don't have to be diary-esque!).
I love how she addresses time spent on journaling. Since I work, am a mom to a toddler and an 11yo, a wife, and own a home, I've got a lot on my plate. I love to write, but finding time is key. I wouldn't want to force myself to journal only to not have enough time left to do my actual writing.
