I had to go to the walk in clinic again last night. The pressure in my ear seemed to be worse and I couldn't hear anything on that side except the pounding of my heartbeat. I intended to call my doctor this morning, but then, about 9 last night the ear and the area around it started to hurt. Taking Advil did nothing so I checked, saw the clinic was open late and went in. Tom drove me because he was worried I was too upset to drive. I was upset, but I could have driven. But it was nice to have him along anyway :-)
The doctor there checked my ear and said it was just as bad as before, so she prescribed a stronger antibiotic. I hope it works soon, because if it doesn't work by tomorrow night, I'm supposed to call my regular doc on Friday.... I'm supposed to go to Colleen's on Friday. So far (only 2 pills taken) it's the same as ever. I don't know whether to call C tonight and warn her I may not be able to make it or wait till tomorrow when I'll know for sure, but it might be harder for them to make other arrangements. I could probably still go - I'm not really sick, just nuts, but if it started hurting at C's, I don't know where I'd go or what I'd do. And the doc last night kind of scared me with talk of ruptured ear drums, so I probably wouldn't want to wait it out all weekend.
I also hope the antibiotic works and my head clears because if it doesn't I'll probably have to get tubes in my ears! I'd never heard of adults having to get that operation, but Deb N said (in the private FB group) her husband's friend had that done as an adult. All I know is, if it would help stop the pressure and the pounding, and give me back my hearing they can do it! Heck, about now, if they said they'd stick a needle in my ear to stop this, I'd say "go ahead"!
keep your fingers crossed for me that the new med works, that my ear unclogs, and that my hearing returns by tomorrow night!
