Rutger fires head basketball coach over abuse scandal

I saw this story on a morning news show, and then got the breaking news that Rutgers finally made the decision to fire their head basketball coach. There are hours of video showing both verbal and physcial abuse of the players. What astounds me is that noone has spoken up before now, that this man has been coaching boys for years and his behavior was acceptable. How can parents subject their children to coaches like this, you can't tell me that they didn't know about it at some point. Even the athletic director admitted that there were signs. Are sports that dang important that we let our kids be treated in such a manner
