I just read on Today.com about an awesome program, called Wings for Autism:
It allows parents of autistic children to spend the day practicing what it's like to fly, they go through security, board the plane, all the way up until the plane doors are closed. Airlines lend the program planes for the day, and staff members also volunteer their time.
It's so nice to hear of people making an effort to ease the experience of an autistic child. Would you like to participate in this program if it was offered at an airport near you?
