Disney had already made the decision to pull out of any factories that are in Bangladesh before the horrific factory building collapse last week that has claimed more than 400 lives. In addition, they have decided to transition out of factories in Ecuador, Venezuela, Belarus and Pakistan.
The company said its decision was based on a report from the World Bank that assesses how countries are governed, using metrics like accountability, corruption and violence, among others. The five countries from which Disney pulled production had the lowest scores on those measures.
